ABUJA: In a significant show of support for President Bola Tinubu’s potential re-election in 2027, An Igbo group, the South East Renewed Hope Agenda SERHA, a support group within the ruling All Progressives Congress APC, said it has earmarked N200 million to acquire the APC presidential nomination form and cover associated campaign logistics.
This substantial financial commitment, unveiled at the inauguration and empowerment event of SERHA’s Imo State chapter over the weekend, signals a strong political endorsement from the South-East for Tinubu’s continued leadership.
The event brought together key political stakeholders, community leaders, and enthusiastic supporters from across the region.
Hon. Belusochukwu Enwere, SERHA’s National Coordinator, delivered a keynote speech, reinforcing the group’s dedication to the “Renewed Hope Agenda.”
“As ambassadors of Renewed Hope, we are tasked with working tirelessly towards the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in 2027,” Enwere stated.
“Today, we present a cheque of ₦200 million for the purchase of the presidential nomination form and associated logistics.”
Enwere lauded President Tinubu’s leadership, highlighting what he described as improvements in infrastructure, education, and inclusive governance.
He affirmed that SERHA would actively promote these achievements within the South-East.
He specifically pointed to several federal initiatives benefiting the region, including the recently approved $3 billion Eastern Rail Line project.
Enwere hailed this as the largest federal infrastructure investment in the South-East’s history, predicting it would significantly boost trade, reduce transport costs, and help address the long-standing sense of marginalization in the region.
“This railway development is a game-changer for the South-East,” he emphasized.
Enwere also celebrated the establishment of the South East Development Commission SEDC, describing it as a major stride towards regional growth, road development, and erosion control, all of which, he noted, “show that the federal government is committed to the growth of our region.”
During his address, Enwere paid homage to respected regional figures like the late Chief Sam Mbakwe and Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu.
He also commended Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma, for his developmental efforts under the “3R Agenda.”
Looking ahead, Enwere announced that SERHA plans to embark on an extensive tour of all 95 local government areas and 2,344 wards in the South-East starting in August.
The aim of this tour is to mobilize robust grassroots support for President Tinubu’s re-election bid.
“This is the turn of Southern Nigeria to complete our eight years. The people of the South-East will not back down to ensure Tinubu’s victory in 2027,” Enwere declared.
