PORT HARCOURT: Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has returned to Port Harcourt, marking a significant moment in the state’s political landscape.
The governor’s flight touched down at the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa, at exactly 12:11 p.m. on Thursday.
Fubara was accompanied by his Deputy Governor, Prof. Ngozi Odu, and his close political ally and former Chief of Staff, Edison Ehie.
Security was tight as his convoy from the Government House arrived at the airport ahead of his landing, with a heavy presence of armed personnel.
The governor, who wore dark sunglasses on arrival, was received by a crowd of supporters and loyalists who had gathered at the airport as early as 6 a.m. to welcome him back.
The development comes amid heightened political tension in Rivers State, with Fubara’s movements closely watched by both supporters and critics.
