ABUJA: The Tinubu Support Group TSG, has distanced itself from a report concerning the upcoming Rivers State Local Government Area LGA elections.
The report in question had called on National Working Committee NWC of the ruling All Progressives Congress APC to take over the sale of nomination forms for the polls.
It was attributed to several individuals, including Hon. Chinedu Egbenumolise and Professor Ali Alao.
However, Director General of TSG, Dr Umar Tanko Yakasai clarified that these individuals are not recognized members or spokespersons of the group and did not have its official endorsement.
The group emphasized that any official communication from the TSG is issued through its national secretariat and signed by the Director General.
“The Tinubu Support Group strongly cautions against the unauthorized use of its name in furtherance of any localized political agenda, especially those that may seek to further divide the All Progressives Congress APC at a critical time for the party,” the statement noted.
The TSG leadership stressed that it is not involved in discussions related to the Rivers State LGA elections and that the individuals who signed the statement have no authority to speak on its behalf.
The group reiterated its commitment to supporting President Bola Tinubu’s administration and promoting party unity.
It called on all APC stakeholders to focus on progress and avoid actions that could undermine the party’s success in the upcoming elections.
