.Says, El-Rufai poster child of bad governance

ABUJA: The All Progressives Congress APC has issued a strong warning to Nigerians about the African Democratic Congress ADC, describing it as a “clear and present danger.”

APC in a statement accused the ADC of weaponizing ethnicity and religion and attempting to undermine the principle of presidential rotation between the North and South.

Spokesman of the APC, Felix Morka, referred to leaders of the ADC – including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, former Kaduna governor Nasir El-Rufai, and Rotimi Amaechi – as “the most confused, clueless, rudderless, and pitiful gang of opposition elements.”

APC specifically targeted El-Rufai, stating that his recent political actions are a real threat to Nigeria’s progress.

The party further criticized El-Rufai’s record as governor, citing a “sordid legacy of obnoxious marginalization of ethnic and religious minorities,” sponsoring sectarian violence, and leaving behind a debt profile of N284 billion.

Describing El-Rufai as a “poster child of bad governance and failed leadership”, the ruling party said the former minister’s political fall “from commanding heights to the political clown he has become needs forensic study.”

The statement linked this downfall to El-Rufai’s failed bid for a ministerial appointment, claiming it sent the former governor into a political “tailspin.”

APC stated that El-Rufai’s recent criticisms of the Tinubu administration as “incompetent, clannish, and undeserving of a second term” is evidence of a mission to “upend the presidential rotational principle.”

The party claims that the ADC, under the influence of Atiku and El-Rufai, is seeking to impose Atiku as its presidential candidate in the middle of the turn of a Southern presidency.
