LAGOS: An Ikeja Magistrates’ Court in Ogba, Lagos, on Wednesday dismissed all charges against Comfort Emmanson, a passenger previously accused of disorderly behaviour and assault during an Ibom Air flight.

Magistrate Olanrewaju Salami struck out the five-count charge after the police applied to withdraw the case.

The withdrawn charges had alleged that Emmanson disrupted order on board, assaulted a flight crew member, and acted in a manner likely to cause a breach of peace. She had earlier entered a not-guilty plea at her arraignment.

During the proceedings, Police Prosecutor Oluwabunmi Adeitan told the court that both the complainant and the airline had decided not to continue with the matter. She explained that the withdrawal was based on directives from the police authorities.

Magistrate Salami granted the application and ordered Emmanson’s formal discharge from the case.
