ABUJA: The Redeemed Christian Church of God RCCG, Province 11, Abuja, has called on Nigerian women to deepen their faith in God and actively support government initiatives designed to improve their welfare.

The church leadership said that since God ordains governments at all levels to serve the common good, women should embrace policies and programmes that promote health, empowerment, and community development.

Speaking at the 2025 Zonal Sisters Convention of the RCCG Everlasting Light Zone, Lugbe, Abuja, the Wife of the Pastor in Charge of the Province, Pastor (Mrs.) Mary Folorunsho, urged women to trust God in every situation and remain supportive of constituted authorities.

She said; “I encourage all of us to put our trust in the Lord, no matter what we are facing. God is ready to turn things around and give us reasons to rejoice.

“Women should not go against the government. Whatever the government is doing, remember it is God who allowed them to be in position. Pray for them, and as you do so, you will also benefit from their programmes, in areas such as health, business loans, and empowerment. From those opportunities, God can elevate you and cause your business to flourish.”

Pastor Folorunsho further encouraged women not to lose hope, stressing that “there is renewed hope in Christ Jesus.

“When you have Jesus, you have everything. Your hope will be restored and your joy renewed,” she added.

The convention, themed “Anchoring on the Sure and Steadfast Hope,” featured a variety of activities including visits to orphanages, special prayers for the nation, worship ministrations, parenting seminars, and a gospel fitness session.

In his remarks, the RCCG Zonal Pastor, Dr. David Okoror, said Nigeria was passing through difficult times, but expressed optimism that the nation would overcome its challenges if women remained steadfast in prayer and moral guidance.

“This programme re-emphasises the vital role of the church — particularly mothers — as builders of homes, societies, and nations,” he said.

“Women are the foundation of families. They influence the behaviour of their children and the stability of their homes. At a time when crime and corruption are on the rise, women must take their place as moral anchors for their families and the nation.”

Dr. Okoror, a security expert and public affairs analyst, also reminded women that while governments have a role to play, ultimate hope and transformation come only through faith in Jesus Christ.

Similarly, the wife of the Zonal Pastor, Pastor (Mrs.) Justina Okoror, described the convention as a transformational experience aimed at spiritual renewal and personal growth.

“The programme is meant to bring healing — to individuals, to the church, and to the nation. For students, it provides guidance on career success, and for parents, it offers lessons on effective parenting,” she said.
