KANO: The Kano State chapter of the National Association of Retired Immigration Officers NARIO has called for closer engagement with the Immigration Training School, Kano, as part of efforts to strengthen national security, institutional memory and professional capacity within the Nigeria Immigration Service NIS.
The call was made when the leadership of the association paid a courtesy visit on the Commandant of the Immigration Training School, Comptroller of Immigration Service Tony Akuneme.
A statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of the school, ASI S.S. Abubakar, said the visit was “aimed at strengthening existing relationship, sharing experiences and exploring ways of collaborating on matters affecting immigration and national security.”

It noted that talks focused on “training, security, and community engagement,” as the association expressed its willingness to support the initiatives of the commandant.
The statement added that the retired officers sought guidance on how to benefit from the expertise of the training school, proposing “regular interactions between the association and the school for knowledge sharing” as well as “collaboration on training programs for retired and serving officers.”
