ABUJA: Residents of the Kado district in Abuja have reported a building collapse on Sarah Ezekwe Street, near the Kado Fish Market, though official sources remain silent on the matter.
A motorist who passed the area on Saturday night said he saw a crowd of residents and an earth-moving machine at the scene around 10 pm.
However, repeated inquiries to officials from the Federal Capital Territory Administration FCTA Development Control and the Federal Fire Service as well as the FCT Fire Service have not been met with a response.
The FCT Emergency Management Agency FEMA has also not issued a statement.
Social media reports, including a post from a contact on X (formerly Twitter), suggest the collapse occurred sometime on Saturday.
At this time, there is no information on potential casualties or the number of people who may be trapped under the rubble.
