ABUJA: Nasarawa State Governor, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, on Friday dismissed any potential threat posed by the African Democratic Congress ADC ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to the governor, the recent adoption of the party by opposition figures has not strengthened them but has instead led to a weakening of their collective force.

Speaking to reporters after a visit to the APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, in Abuja, Governor Sule expressed his lack of concern regarding the new political alliance.

He explained that the ADC, from his understanding, is a result of a split from another opposition party, which he believes makes the opposition less formidable.

“We have never been worried about opposition,” Governor Sule stated. “Our focus has always been on strengthening our own party and delivering on our promises to the Nigerian people.”

He emphasized that the administration’s priority is to build on the progress of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope Agenda” and that he, along with other governors, is working to support the federal government at the state level.

Governor Sule added that his primary concern is his own party’s actions and not those of rival political groups.

When asked about the new APC National Chairman, Sule praised Yilwatda as a “Renewed Hope Agenda chairman” and said his appointment came at a crucial time.

He noted that with Yilwatda hailing from the North Central zone, the region no longer has a reason to complain about its position within the party’s leadership structure.
