
BENIN: The Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has approved the nomination of five individuals as Commissioners-Designate, with their names set to be forwarded to the Edo State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.
A statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq., on Thursday, announced the nominees as Hon. (Barr.) Vincent Osas Uwadiae, Hon. Etin-osa Ogbeiwi, Hon. Saturday Uwuilekhue Idehen (JP), Hon. Charity Amayaenvbo, and Professor Roland Itoyah Otaru, SAN.
According to the statement, Uwadiae is a lawyer and former Chairman of the Edo State Oil and Gas Producing Areas Development Commission.
Ogbeiwi, a former lawmaker in the Edo State House of Assembly, is trained in project monitoring and governance.
Idehen, a former state commissioner and ex-chairman of Orhionmwon Local Government, holds a degree in International Studies and Diplomacy.
Amayaenvbo, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, has a background in Political Science and Business Administration, while Professor Otaru, SAN, is a distinguished legal scholar, Senior Advocate of Nigeria, and Honorary Member of the Body of Benchers.
The statement added that their nominations will be laid before the House of Assembly for legislative consideration and possible confirmation.
