ABUJA: The Comptroller General of Customs CGC, Adewale Adeniyi, has reaffirmed the Nigeria Customs Service’s commitment to closer collaboration with agencies under the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board CDCFIB.

According to him, shared facilities and operational cooperation is vital to enhancing national security.

Adeniyi gave the assurance when the CDCFIB leadership paid a courtesy visit on him in Abuja.

He noted that the Service has long-standing partnerships with sister agencies, particularly in the area of infrastructure and recruitment support.

“In Ibadan, we have a five-storey building where two floors are dedicated to Immigration and the Correctional Service.

“In Kano, our facilities are used for Immigration recruitment, while in Bauchi, we set aside a wing for our colleagues. These are clear proofs that despite structural changes, our relationship remains strong”, said Adeniyi.

He stressed that the collaboration would continue to grow in the interest of national security and service delivery.

Earlier, Secretary of the CDCFIB, Major General Abdulmalik Jibrin (retd), congratulated Adeniyi on the extension of his tenure and praised his efforts in strengthening Nigeria’s economy and security through Customs reforms.

“As Secretary to the Board of these four services, I believe it is important to rekindle and strengthen our ties. We must be able to approach one another whenever the need arises.

“This visit is about consolidating our partnership in areas of training, recruitment, and operational support, in line with the federal government’s whole-of-society approach to security”, Jibrin said.
