ABUJA: A young man identified simply as IK has allegedly taken his own life in the Kagini area of the Federal Capital Territory FCT.
The incident, which occurred on Friday, came to public attention after a video was posted on the verified Facebook page of Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication and Social Media to the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike.
In the video, some residents believed to be friends and neighbours of the deceased were seen expressing shock over the incident, questioning why IK would choose to end his life.
While some mourners speculated that the man may have been driven by personal struggles, others suspected foul play and demanded to see the stool allegedly used in the act.
As of the time of filing this report, the FCT Police Command had not issued any official statement regarding the development.
