
IBADAN: The Oyo State Police Command has rescued an Egyptian national who was kidnapped on Monday morning, September 8, 2025, at Alomaja in Oluyole Local Government Area.
Police spokesperson, CSP Adewale Osifeso, confirmed the development in a statement made available to journalists on Tuesday.
According to him, the victim was freed within 24 hours of his abduction following a coordinated operation led by Commissioner of Police, CP Femi Haruna.
He disclosed that the rescue involved operatives from 4 PMF Ibadan, the Command’s Intelligence and Tactical Units, local vigilance teams, and officers from the Ogun State Police Command.
“Through careful planning, intelligence analysis, and swift response, the combined teams successfully located the abducted individual after an extensive search of forests and border communities between Oyo and Ogun states,” Osifeso said.
He added that the victim was rescued without ransom and is currently receiving medical attention at the Police Hospital, Eleyele, before being reunited with his family.
The Command urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities through its emergency contacts.
“Ensuring public safety is our utmost priority, and we are committed to maintaining a peaceful Oyo State for all,” the statement added.
