Reforms: North Central APC Youths Hail Olumode’s appointment as Fire Service boss

ABUJA: Youths from the North Central zone of the All Progressives Congress APC have commended President Bola Tinubu for appointing Kogi-born Adeyemi Samuel Olumode as the new Controller General of the Federal Fire Service FFS, describing the move as a sign of inclusivity and merit-based governance.

The youths also threw their weight behind the Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, hailing his sweeping reforms in the ministry and passing a resounding vote of confidence on his leadership.

Speaking at a press briefing in Abuja on Monday, the APC North Central Youth Leader, Hon. Zubair Aliyu Rogun, said the appointment reflects the President’s commitment to fairness and recognition of competence, while also opening fresh opportunities for the transformation of the Federal Fire Service.

“Mr. President, we thank you for finding Olumode worthy of such a sensitive national assignment. His elevation brings pride not only to Kogi State but to the entire North Central and indeed Nigerian youths,” Rogun said.

While celebrating the appointment, the youths also called on the Federal Government to increase investments in the Fire Service, stressing the urgent need for modern equipment, enhanced capacity building, and stronger institutional support to enable the new Controller General deliver on his mandate.

On the performance of the Interior Minister, the North Central youths were unequivocal:

“The Nigerian youths align with your reforms and we score you A+++ for the excellent performance thus far. The youth constituency passes a vote of confidence on you for being a true ambassador of our generation,” Rogun declared.

The youths reaffirmed their loyalty to President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, pledging to mobilize broad youth support for his administration while backing reforms aimed at strengthening national security and public safety institutions.

With Adeyemi at the helm of the Fire Service and Tunji-Ojo driving reforms in the Interior Ministry, the APC youth leaders expressed optimism that the sector would witness unprecedented transformation, boosting emergency response and safeguarding lives and property nationwide.
