
Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has approved the nomination of three Commissioners-Designate to join his cabinet.
The three Commissioners-Designate are Dr. Elizabeth Onome Ebosele, Hon. Christopher Ewere Okaeben, and Rt. Hon. Festus Odianosen Ebea, JP. Their names have been forwarded to the Edo State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.
Dr. Ebosele, a development economist and public policy expert, has served as Technical Adviser on Budget and National Planning at the federal level and was part of the Technical Working Group on employment, gender, and inclusion for Nigeria’s Medium-Term National Development Plan (2021–2025).
Hon. Okaeben, a former member of the Edo State House of Assembly representing Oredo West Constituency, has held several public offices including Commissioner for Youth and Sports. He is also a finance professional with degrees from the University of Benin.
Rt. Hon. Ebea, a former Deputy Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, represented Esan South East Constituency and is widely recognised for his grassroots mobilisation and legislative reforms. He holds the traditional title of Obarisiagbon of Ubiaja and is a Justice of the Peace.
The Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq., who announced the nominations on Thursday, September 25, 2025, said the move is part of efforts by Governor Okpebholo to strengthen governance and deliver on his administration’s development agenda.
