Dr Tunji-Ojo said the promotions were based on merit, seniority and fairness. He urged the officers to see their elevation as a call to higher responsibility.
“You are not just wearing new ranks; you are carrying new responsibilities. Lead by example, mentor the officers coming behind you, and let your decisions reflect loyalty, compassion, and courage. Our people must feel the impact of your leadership through safety, protection of lives, and defence of national assets,” Tunji-Ojo said.
He reassured the officers of President Tinubu’s commitment to improved welfare, continuous reforms, and an end to career stagnation in paramilitary services.
The Permanent Secretary reminded the officers that “to whom much is given, much is expected,” while Senate Committee Chairman on Interior, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, hailed the ceremony as “amazing and worth emulating,” praising the officers’ dedication to national service.
