
BENIN: Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has nominated four Commissioners for his cabinet.
The governor also appointed two special advisers, according to a statement released on Friday by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor.
The commissioners-designate are: Ohimai Ehijimetor, a civil engineering graduate with over 14 years of experience in project management and business development. He currently serves as the Managing Director of Jackhammar Services Limited.
Eugenia Abdallah, an executive with over 10 years of experience in the banking industry, with qualifications in Humanities and Administration.
Hon. Godwin Afekokhe Eshieshi, a seasoned politician and businessman who holds degrees in Government and Public Administration as well as International Relations. He is a former member of the Edo State House of Assembly and a former Chairman of Etsako East Local Government Council.
Prince Kassim Afegbua, a veteran journalist, public affairs commentator, and politician with extensive experience in media and governance. He previously served as the Commissioner for Information and Orientation and as a Special Adviser on Media to a former governor of the state.
The governor’s list of nominees has been forwarded to the Edo State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.
In addition to the commissioners-designate, Governor Okpebholo also announced two key appointments.
They are Aigbogun Collins, the immediate past Chairman of Esan West Local Government Council, who has been appointed as the Special Adviser to the Governor on Youth Mobilisation.
Osobase Oboaguina, was named the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Mobilization, Edo Central.
