Katsina Governor Hands Over to Deputy, Proceeds on Medical Leave

KATSINA: Katsina state governor, Dr Dikko Umaru Radda will proceed on a three-week medical leave starting Monday, August 18, 2025, to attend to health concerns.

In a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Dr Bala Salisu Zango, the governor thanked the people of the state for their support, understanding and prayers, assuring them of his commitment to return with renewed energy and dedication.

“Taking the necessary steps to prioritize my health is essential so I can continue to serve effectively and make the best decisions for our state. I look forward to returning to my duties as soon as I finish my medical check-up”, Radda said.

To ensure continuity in governance, Deputy Governor Malam Faruk Lawal (Sarkin Fulanin Jobe) has been directed to act as governor during Radda’s absence.

The governor expressed confidence in his deputy’s ability to manage the affairs of the state effectively.

The government assured residents that all ongoing projects and programmes under the “Building Your Future Agenda” will continue without disruption.

Governor Radda, who has been at the forefront of key development initiatives in Katsina, is expected to resume duty at the end of his medical leave.
