
ABUJA: The Federal Capital Territory FCT Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC, Dr Olusola Odumosu, has been conferred with an honourary Doctor of Philosophy degree in Peace and Security Management by Prowess University, Delaware, USA.

The award was presented on Friday during a human capacity building, induction and dinner held at the Army Resource Centre, Asokoro, Abuja.

Representative of Prowess University Africa, Professor Eze C. Nwauba, alongside members of the Chartered Institute of Information Strategy Management Council, officiated the presentation.
According to the organizers, Odumosu’s nomination was unanimously approved by the advisory board of the Chartered Institute of Information Strategy Management and the award selection committee.

He was recognized as a strategic manager, lifetime achiever, and advocate of transparency, accountability, justice, and equity, as well as for his humanitarian work and transformational leadership.
In addition to the doctorate, Commandant Odumosu, a Ph.D holder, was inducted as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Information and Strategy Management CIISM — a body focused on capacity building through seminars, international conferences and consulting, while honouring individuals with notable lifetime achievements.

in a statement after the event, the NSCDC FCT boss said the award was a humbling recognition from a globally respected institution.
“For me, the award is not just a personal honour but a testament to the collective efforts of my team, mentors, and the people I have worked with. I pledge to continue contributing to the betterment of the FCT and society at large”, he said in the statement signed by Command Public Relations Officer, DSC Monica Ojobi.
Odumosu said the recognition would further inspire him to make a positive impact wherever his service takes him.
