
BENIN: Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has flagged off the construction of a second flyover bridge in Benin City, aimed at easing traffic congestion and improving road connectivity in the Edo South Senatorial District.
The project, sited at the Adesuwa-Sapele Road intersection, is part of the administration’s broader infrastructural renewal drive targeted at boosting economic activities across the state.
In a statement, the Edo State Government urged residents, motorists, and other road users to cooperate with contractors and government officials working on site. It advised commuters to adhere strictly to all traffic diversion signs and make use of designated alternative routes during the construction period.
“The government wishes to inform the general public that construction work has commenced on the second flyover project at Adesuwa Road Junction, along Sapele Road, Benin City. Residents, motorists and other road users are kindly advised to cooperate with contractors and officials on site, adhere to traffic diversion signs and use alternative routes,” the statement read.
The government further assured that it remains committed to implementing major infrastructural projects across Edo, with particular focus on easing vehicular movement and creating a more enabling environment for commerce.
