
ABUJA: The Head of the Civil Service of the Federal Capital Territory FCT, Mrs. Grace Adayilo, has died, few hours after ministering in church.
Reliable sources confirmed that Adayilo passed on in the early hours of Monday, though the circumstances surrounding her death remain unclear.

According to accounts, the senior civil servant was in good health on Sunday, as she attended church service and even ministered to the congregation. Her sudden demise just hours later has left colleagues, family, and associates in shock.
Mrs. Adayilo, who was appointed Head of the Civil Service of the FCT Administration in October 2024, had distinguished herself as a career officer with decades of service in the Federal Capital Territory Administration FCTA.
She rose through the ranks and served as the Permanent Secretary of Agriculture and Rural Development Secretariat in the FCT Administration before her elevation in 2024.
Adayilo was widely respected for her dedication, administrative reforms and commitment to the welfare of civil servants in the territory.
Her tenure as Head of Service was marked by efforts to strengthen efficiency within the FCT bureaucracy and to prioritize staff welfare, training, and productivity.
As of the time of filing this report, the FCT Administration has yet to issue an official statement on her passing.
Mrs. Adayilo’s death adds to the growing list of top Nigerian public servants who have died in active service, stirring renewed conversations about the pressures and health risks associated with high-level public office.
